Bombyx Mori Silks & Textiles is the First Mulberry Silk Yarn and Fabric Producing Company in the Northern India which uses fully Automatic Reeling Machine (ARM), A MultiEnd Reeling Machine and Cottage Basins to produce Mulberry Silk.

About us

The company was established in the year 2013 as a composite unit with the installation of its first Silk Reeling unit with Multi end and Cottage Basin Technology from the CSTRI; Central Silk Technological Research Institute, Bangalore. Simultaneously a Twisting unit and a Weaving unit was also established at the same time in order to achieve the “ FIBRE to FABRIC ” concept.

The company strived to keep the quality standards steady and high; thus creating a niche for its brand in the market. The company then forayed in the latest technology of producing the finest quality Mulberry Silk Yarn through a fully Automated Reeling Plant which was imported from China and established in the year 2017. This enabled us to further achieve the finest quality of Silk Yarn and Silk Fabrics.

The company has an annual Cocoon consumption capacity of 120 Metric Tonnes in two shifts to produce approximately 40 Metric Tonnes of Raw Silk Yarn. It provides indirect employment to thousands of cocoon rearing farmers and a considerable number of people through direct employment.

In the year 2019 the company received its first the National Award for the Best Reeling Practices from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India at the Mega Silk Event; Surging Silk conducted by the Central Silk Board of India; held in New Delhi.

What We Do:

The Bombyx Mori Silks & Textiles Brand Mulberry Silk Fabric and Silk Yarn are manufactured in adherence with the international industry set standards by using the finest Sun dried Himalayan Bivoltine Cocoons of AAA grades to Reel the Silk thread and further Weave the Silk Fabric. This breed of cocoons have their roots embedded in the Ancient Silk Route.

The products are available in wide range of Deniers and GSM as per the application needs of clients.

Offered range is rigorously checked on various quality parameters for ensuring quality standard.

Our Process

The finest Sun Dried Himalayan Bivoltine Cocoons are procured from different districts and far flung hilly areas of Jammu & Kashmir directly from the farmers through the auction markets held by the Government which occur only once a year.

On procurement of cocoons; each batch of cocoons from the auction market is tagged with the information on the source; which contains the name of the farmer, date of procurement and the auction market.

Once these cocoons are received at the factory, special attention is taken for the storage of the same due to the very delicate nature of the cocoons.The cocoons are stored in specially designed storage warehouses having the controlled atmosphere facilities with specially designed stands with iron mesh and ant wells, to safe guard against the insects and rat infestation.

Further once the cocoons are sorted, graded, reeled and woven the tag of each individual handling at every level is added to ensure quality parameters are followed at every step of the process.

Our objective is to produce Quality Silk yarn and Silk fabric of different varieties and international standards from the bivoltine mullberry cocoon and make it widely available. We want to provide this ancient sustainable and natural way of life’s tradition back to your door step.
